Porta Kleen’s reliable service and innovative solutions are fueling the rapid growth of Central Ohio’s data center industry.
Porta Kleen has become a driving force behind Central Ohio’s booming data center industry. With projects underway in Plain City, Hilliard, Jeffersonville and especially New Albany, Porta Kleen’s equipment and trucks are now a fixture on some of the region’s largest construction sites. “When you drive around New Albany, it’s exciting to see that it’s just primarily Porta Kleen,” said Sales Manager Tyler Zook. “You don’t see anybody else out there with the kind of presence we have.”
Data center construction demands massive support, and Porta Kleen is meeting it with hundreds of portable restroom units, serviced multiple times a week. At peak, a single site may require nearly 200 units. The company also provides patented water systems for trailer complexes and restroom trailers with climate control and running water.
“Some contractors want to give the workers nicer facilities, so we’ve been doing more restroom trailers,” said Director of Sales Dan Runner. “It’s really been a morale boost for the workers and a big reason why customers keep coming back to us.”
The foundation of Porta Kleen’s success is reliability. The company has built lasting partnerships with national contractors by delivering consistent, professional service. “It all comes down to the route drivers,” said Zook. “We can get on site and give them as many toilets as they want, but if we don’t service them right, we’re gone. Our drivers know one bad experience could get us kicked off a job, and they don’t let that happen.”
That commitment is fueling remarkable growth. Porta Kleen now supports more than a dozen data center projects across Central Ohio, including a massive New Albany campus that will feature 27 buildings on 400 acres. The development is expected to last a decade. “It allows us to plan for the future knowing the business is coming in,” Runner said.
Even as one project wraps up, more are already on the horizon. Jeffersonville has become a hot spot thanks to its power surplus, while future data centers are planned in Sunbury and Lima. For Porta Kleen, that means more opportunities to deliver dependable service that keeps construction moving. As Runner put it, “We’ve been doing this since 2016, and even after all these years, the customers are still coming to us for solutions. That tells me we’re doing it right.”
