This September, Porta Kleen marked the retirement of Division Manager Doug Hall, who joined the company in 2017 and spent more than eight years contributing to its success.
Hall brought decades of experience to Porta Kleen, beginning with his service in the U.S. Army, followed by roles in manufacturing, service, and retail. Along the way he built a reputation for persistence and practical problem-solving, which became central qualities to his work.
At Porta Kleen, Hall embraced project management with a steady hand and a focus on results. He managed customer projects and high-profile events with close attention to planning, cost control, and customer satisfaction. His work often placed him on site at national event venues. “Some of the events we supported were pretty special,” Hall said. “It was a privilege to be part of the team making them happen.”
“Working with Doug and seeing him grow the last eight years at Porta Kleen was an honor,” said Porta Kleen President Adam Black. “He’s such a team player, and the company is so much better since he’s been here.”
Black said Hall’s career exemplifies commitment, teamwork, and respect, and the company would not be where it is today without people like him. Hall’s presence will be greatly missed.
“Doug always put people first and treated everyone with the utmost respect. He’s a shining example of the kind of employee you’d want others to be,” Black said. “We hate to see him go, but we wish him and his wife all the best.”
Hall’s leadership was marked by his ability to build trust and maintain strong relationships. Safety and accountability were always at the forefront. Colleagues recall that he could manage difficult situations directly but always with respect, leaving people feeling supported.
Looking back, Hall said he felt grateful for the people he worked with. “I’ve been fortunate throughout my career to have really good owners, managers, and teammates,” he said. “Work has a way of showing parts of people’s character that even their families may not see.”
